139:Mental Health Awareness Month with Fred Eaton

The church has a choice to make on how to support those struggling with mental health, depression, suicidal thoughts, and more. Today’s interview with Fred Eaton is incredibly helpful to gain perspective on how to do this well. Listen in for insights on Fred’s dynamic story and how the church can get better at caring for those struggling. There is freedom and hope on the other side of caring well.

  • If you put up barriers so you don’t get hurt, you also put up your barriers so you can’t be loved.
  • I went through a period of not being able to feel much.
  • I can’t externalize all the blame. I have to deal with some stuff in me.
  • I was a slave to my habits and my desires.
  • The first time I heard the Gospel I knew that I knew that that was my only hope.
